Kesilewski

Class of 2019 -  Guard - Waunakee High School

WHO I AM

My name is Caitlyn Kesilewski and I am a guard graduating in 2019 at Waunakee High School. I play AAU for Wisconsin Academy during the summer. I want to continue playing basketball at the next level because I have loved the game ever since I picked up a ball at four years old. I am a highly motivated athlete who believes it is important to constantly discover parts of your game that need to be worked on. By pin-pointing my weaknesses, I am always able to work on becoming a more well-rounded basketball player. I enjoy playing against talented players as they provide high-level competition and they show me things I can improve upon. I loved being challenged to use different arsenals of my game in order to excel at a higher level.

Over the next year, I am planning to improve the physical, mental, and educational aspects of my game.

Physically, I would like to develop a more effective mid-range game as well as adding a variety of different finishes to use around the rim. I think this would be a good way to complement my vision of the court and long range shooting.

Mentally, I am a strong individual who appreciates feedback and can take constructive criticism. However, this year I am aiming to become an even better teammate. When people come to watch my games I want them to see that I am the type of person who always hustles and cheers on their teammates regardless of the score or how I am performing.

Educationally, I am always watching basketball whenever I have the chance. Whether it be the NBA finals, March Madness, or even my younger brother's 3-on-3 basketball games; I am constantly watching basketball and looking for moves or actions to incorporate into my game.

SPEAKING CALENDAR

"Waunakee junior guard Caitlyn Kesilewski smiled and accepted the compliment when Warriors girls basketball coach Tom Lesar dubbed her “Pistol Pete” the other day."

"The Warriors, trailing 39-30, cut the deficit to one when they unleashed a full-court press and scored eight unanswered points in 22 seconds, including consecutive 3-pointers by Kesilewski in a 10-second span."

“We didn’t play our best in the first half,” said junior guard Caitlyn Kesilewski, who scored all of her eight points in the second half. “[At halftime], Coach left us in the locker room by ourselves, and he left it up to us to talk it out and see what we wanted to do… We went in with a positive mindset into the second half.”

¨A layup from Caitlyn Kesilewski, part of a late 10-2 Waunakee run, put the Warriors up by three with eight seconds to go.¨
